Statistics Tutoring review by Mariah in Raleigh-Durham, NC
Today we went over some homework questions dealing with binomial distribution, variability, proportion an mean, and identifying various distributions using histograms. The student showed a good understanding of how to complete the questions once we identified the correct method. She is slightly behind in the course, so some of the concepts that have built are more complicated to understand. She is also still working on memorizing the various statistical rules. She is very patient and easy to communicate and convey ideas to.

We went over some practice problems and looked over how to identify different things, as well as when reading problems that require a hypothesis test. I gave the student some extra material and videos to look over outside of our session that explains all of the values. We will continue going over practice problems for her final exam at our next session tomorrow.

The student did an excellent job with his previous homework. He handed in Chapter 4 problems, and during this lesson we moved right into concepts and examples from Chapter 5, which covers inferences based on a single sample. We distinguished between the sample standard deviation, and the standard deviation of the mean, and reviewed the Central Limit Theorem. The student was assigned problems from this chapter, and at the next lesson (Friday) we will do inferences based on a single sample. He continues to grasp statistical concepts.
