What grade are they currently in?

Alfredo is a wonderful teacher. My 7 year old son is able to focus on the lesson for the full hour because Alfredo makes if fun to learn Spanish. The sessions are recorded so we can go back and review and also see how well they interact together. Alfredo is also very willing to work with our schedule which changes frequently and he always makes time for our son's lessons.

We covered vocabulary and worked on homework. We reviewed and studied the vocab that was going to be on the test. We worked on the vocabulary, and I gave the student some hints to study and practice before the test. I think she will do well on her test.

Spanish Tutoring review by Julia in Fishers, IN
We devoted the first half of today's session to learning how to use the object pronouns "lo," "la," and "los." First, I helped the student translate 6 sentences she had for homework. However, for added practice, I had her translate 4 more. One of the things I am pressing her on is accents when crafting words. Using her notes from class, I reminded her that one must count 3 syllables from the right and place the accent on the first vowel. After that, I had her practice using the terms "ser" and "estar" but beyond a basic level. She now must learn when to use the appropriate verb to tell time, talk about the weather, and describe the location of a place. We only practiced this in the present tense today, but she is expected to be able to use the imperfect and preterite tenses, so we will move on to these on Thursday.

Spanish Tutoring review by Alesha in Fishers, IN
We did a review of the alphabet. I asked the student to tell me a word that started with each letter. He can go up to E naming words. We used the drum and singing to learn tocar (to play), tambor (drum), as (like this/like that), juntos (together), and tu y yo (you and I). We ended with me having him write Spanish letters on his whiteboard, one at a time, to spell the words. This way, he can hear a Spanish letter and write it correctly then put the sounds together to correctly pronounce words.

We did exercises about the past and the present tenses. We covered the differences between the simple past and the past continuous, and we covered adjectives in Spanish and endings according to gender and number. We also reviewed uses of adjectives and their position in a sentence with a noun.

We mainly talked about the student's Thanksgiving. He wrote down some expressions and vocabulary as we conversed. I advise him to reread his notes on Spanish grammar so that he can incorporate that knowledge into his Spanish conversation. Overall, he spoke very well! His homework for next week will be to write a paragraph about his Christmas plans.
