What grade are they currently in?

Alfredo is a wonderful teacher. My 7 year old son is able to focus on the lesson for the full hour because Alfredo makes if fun to learn Spanish. The sessions are recorded so we can go back and review and also see how well they interact together. Alfredo is also very willing to work with our schedule which changes frequently and he always makes time for our son's lessons.

Session Summaries by Spanish Tutors

Spanish Tutoring review by Dylan in Canton, OH
The student and I worked on the conjugation of "llamarse." Being that this is a reflexive verb, it has three moving parts and its conjugations can be harder to memorize than those of other verbs. I decided to do a ball-passing exercise to join movement to the oral/aural learning of the verb, hoping that it would create a stronger connection. With repetition, we got good results by the end of the class. We still have work to do on establishing (without looking at a graph on paper) that conjugations can be guessed correctly out loud by remembering to attach the appropriate verb ending to the stem of the verb.

Spanish Tutoring review by Joe in Canton, OH
We covered stem-changing and irregularly conjugated verbs in the present tense. We also previewed the various uses of the verbs ser and estar. The student continues to excel and loves to learn. I sent him links to language videos for our next session as well as additional homework from the syllabus I prepared.

Spanish Tutoring review by Armando in Canton, OH
We covered introductory topics. We began with basic sentence structure, personal pronouns, and basic verb conjugation, as well as some easy phrases. We performed various pronunciation exercises and finished with some in-class dialogues. The student had a positive, friendly attitude. We will begin zeroing in on more specific tasks at our next session. She left with a worksheet to help her reinforce correct pronoun usage and verb conjugation within typical Spanish phrases.

Spanish Tutoring review by Lori in Canton, OH
Today we practiced pronunciation by practicing from a list of Spanish people's names. We also practiced numbers again with a quick game of "98" and oral and listening practice. Then we tackled verbs, focusing on the present irregulars (estar, dar, ir, ser, estar) and "go" verbs and e-ie boot verbs. I can tell the student has been studying between sessions!

Spanish Tutoring review by Katrina in Canton, OH
We went over the preterite tense of reflexive verbs. We also reviewed the present progressive tense and practiced it though discussion, translations, describing a picture, and questions and answers. We went over vocabulary for family. We continued the review of ser and estar. There were some good practical phrases that the student recalled, which stemmed from conversations we were having that are both common and useful. The student is going to work on the present progressive, writing sentences. He will also write a paragraph describing members of his family and his relation to them.
