Science Tutoring review by Bradley in Vista, CA
We worked on worksheets that he had over work, power, and energy. I emailed him some more practice because he asked me too. He has a test on Thursday and finals next week. I think he was good for this test. He seemed to really get it.

The student and I prepared for her momentum test this upcoming Thursday. We went over 1 and 2 dimensional problems. The two dimensional problems involved vectors and vector addition using protractors. She and I spent some time deciding how to find the correct angles and draw the vectors because she does it differently than her teacher showed them to do it, but she still gets the same answer. All in all, I think she is super prepared for her upcoming test.

Science Tutoring review by Alana in Vista, CA
Today we started working on work and energy in physics. We reviewed all of her homework for the week and the student did an excellent job. She was able to set up all of the problems by herself and solve them correctly. She also did very well with solving problems that involved working with both energy and kinematics.

Science Tutoring review by Thomas in Vista, CA
Today was our first session regarding physics material. We discussed momentum on a conceptual level, and interpreted the physical consequences of collisions in terms of comparing momentum and impulse. After discussing this material, we began studying for the student's semester final next week with his review sheet. We worked through the first half, addressing early concepts such as accuracy, types of error, and significant figures. We also began to discuss how to graph and interpret position and velocity time plots for a free-falling object, as well as how to apply Newton's 2nd law and the kinematic equations to projectiles. The student was very motivated and expressed great interest and intrigue in the subject matter.

Science Tutoring review by Aunaly in Vista, CA
Today we started with three problems involving projectile motion. All involved an object being launched horizontally from a height and having to calculate either the distance it traveled, the height of the building or cliff, or the amount of time it was in the air. Then we moved on to Pre-Calculus where we worked on problems involving arcsin, arccos, and arctan.

The student and I spent today's session completing her Science Review Packet, which covered topics from the entire semester. Many of the questions required her to define and apply the definitions of the vocabulary we've been studying all week, and she did well remembering the vocabulary. In future sessions, we are going to study the completed Review Packet in order to prepare her for her final exam.
