Physics Tutoring review by Justin in Peoria, AZ
The student has two test this week, one in geometry and the other in physics, so we prepared. Her geometry test covered how to prove polynomials. I felt like she knew the basic process of solving and proving each type of polynomial, so we worked more on the definitions of each type of polynomial. Her physics test will cover momentum, impulse and collision safety. She appeared to understand how to solve each type of open-ended problem.

We went over work and kinetic energy theorems and problems and began test prep. He performed much better this session. He has shown he is able to think quickly and has shown promise in his problem-solving skills. We will work more on measurement units and math.

We went over the concepts taught to her in the first week of classes. We did practice problems on electric force and fields. I told her to read the chapter in her book and note down all important formulas from the chapter before we meet again on Wednesday.

We went over the student's physics lab write up. We discussed the experiment and what her findings were. I helped her generate an Excel graph for her data and analyze what data indicated. We then went over her worksheet on kinematics. There are 4 different equations that she needs to know, and I told her when to use each. She was engaged and receptive to learning during the session.

We went over the student's homework, which consisted of questions on force. We went over concepts like writing an expression for the net force and setting it equal to mass times acceleration using Newton's second law. We also looked at strings and tension force. The student has a positive attitude towards the material.

Physics Tutoring review by Michael in Peoria, AZ
Today was the first session in which we reviewed his previous test questions covering 2D motion equations. We worked through the general concepts and the equations given on his test, then worked through the problems again. My recommendations to him were to keep track of the information given in a problem to identify which equation to choose. He was able to redo the problems on his own with little help, mostly just positive reinforcement and some general conceptual questions from his textbook regarding area under the curve and derivatives from a precalculus perspective.
