Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Jean-Bernard in Richardson, TX
We covered Mendelian genetics and probability. Specifically, we covered how autosomal dominant and recessive traits are inherited and the likelihood of subsequent genotypes and phenotypes . The student needed help most on how to start the genetics problems and I introduced using a Punnett square to help visualize the outcomes of each cross. She seems to have a good handle on what do with these problems now.

The student and I covered redox reactions, with emphasis on balancing said reactions. I also covered electrochemical cells briefly to prepare him for what's coming next. We discussed the general concepts for him to be prepared this week and follow the class topic more readily.

We covered the rest of Chapter 13 and started Chapter 14 of her material. I explained the things she did in class and started her ahead with the new material in transcription and translation. She seems to grasp the material very well. Overall, the session was great as usual.

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Victoria in Richardson, TX
The student and I got to know each other a little bit and we reviewed the course as a whole. I covered my teaching style as well as what I hope she'll be able to get out of our tutoring sessions and she told me what they've been studying recently and what she's been struggling with. We mostly covered the topics of restriction enzymes and DNA replication, as they are the most recent and unclear ideas for her. She is a great student who is very positive about the material at hand. I would like to work with her to be more vocal about the topics she struggles with or details that aren't quite clear. She asked pertinent and intelligent questions about the experiments we were discussing that allowed me to better clarify the material for her.

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Verne in Richardson, TX
We covered unit conversions, specifically how to introduce and remove a prefix. We also discussed the difference between distance and displacement with a few examples. Then, we practiced finding the distance and displacement of "right-angled" paths using Pythagoras' Theorem and specifying the direction by calculating and properly describing an appropriate angle. The student did examples of each of the above and showed good comprehension.
