The student and I went further along in our chapter 4 review today, covering more difficult exponential expressions and discussing how to solve fractions in simple ways. One minor issue that arose today was making sure to fully simplify equations, and recognizing when there is more simplifying to be done. This comes with practice, and he is ready to take those next steps. He has improved greatly and is ready to really commit to understanding higher level mathematical thinking.

He has memorized the quadratic equation and did very well in applying it to find solutions to quadratics. We also went over finding square roots and finding the determinant of an equation to determine the type and number of solutions an equation will have.
