Latin Tutoring review by Erin in Tacoma, WA
The student and I discussed personal pronouns and the perfect tenses. We mainly looked over the paradigms and their correct English translations. Then we worked through relative pronouns and ablative/accusative of time constructions. We read the introductory material in his textbook and practiced 2-3 translation sentences for each concept. As I told him, the idea of a relative pronoun is very intuitive, as we use it often in English, but breaking it down in Latin can become challenging. I think he grasped it well, and I recommended that he practice a bit more today (if time allowed) to solidify the concept. In general, I am so impressed at how well he is doing, especially as he is doing it mostly on his own. I know the self-discipline required to learn Latin WITH constant instruction, and I think he is doing such an amazing job at keeping up with it on his own.
