Latin Tutoring review by Kara in Midwest City, OK
Today, the student and I completed another lesson. We began with a quick conversational review over the date, day of the week, months, and ordinal numbers. We are reinforcing vocabulary terms and regularly using preterite construction in our warm-up questions. Today, we focused on reviewing vocabulary that we've introduced in previous lessons. We are working together on responding using the correct subject pronoun and using the correct personal ending. He occasionally confuses the subject pronouns when he's asking a question or responding, but we will continue to improve on that. I've asked him to work on reviewing his flashcards on his own to help build his vocabulary base.

Latin Tutoring review by Omar in Midwest City, OK
Today, we began to apply what we've learned to speaking. We went over the flashcards we have made, and we spent the entire time building sentences using the vocabulary in question. At first, it was difficult for the student, but he began to pick out strategies to facilitate the conjugation process.

Today, we spent most of the time having very interesting conversations, most of which were initiated by what the student read in the novel. I see a definite improvement and a higher degree of confidence in the student.

Latin Tutoring review by Angie in Midwest City, OK
Today, we spent time on verbs (review and new), the progressive forms (gerunds), and prepositional phrases. The student did not struggle with anything and was positive the entire time. He has one handout to complete with irregular verbs for our next session.

Today, we studied reflexive verbs and their pronouns. We also conversed about general topics and listened to Luis Miguel's song. The student speaks fluently and just needs to practice.

Latin Tutoring review by Ashlynn in Midwest City, OK
Today, we worked on some conversational practice. As new words and phrases came up, I explained their meanings and definitions. One useful phrase we learned was "tener que" - to have to (do something). We learned a little bit more vocabulary, briefly went over diminutives (-ito, -ita), and reviewed question words (who, what, where... etc.) and their definitions with an accent mark and without. We reviewed the preterit (past) tense, which he remembered very well, and we went over some irregular verbs in the preterite tense. We went over the difference between ir and irse, (regular verb and reflexive), and finished up with a little more conversational practice. I will send him some more practice and allow him to look up words that he doesn't know. .
