Private In-Home and Online HSPT Tutoring in Roseville, CA

Receive personally tailored HSPT lessons from exceptional tutors in a one-on-one setting. We help you connect with in-home and online tutoring that offers flexible scheduling and your choice of locations.

The High School Placement Test is given each year in the fall and again in the spring to eighth graders who are applying for certain private schools. It's important for meeting admissions criteria and for placement in classes once a student has been accepted. If you have a child who is going to take the HSPT, it is a good idea to consider having them work with a private tutor to strive to ensure they are current in all the topics and know how to take the test itself. Varsity Tutors' educational directors can assist students in connecting with a tutor in Roseville, CA, who could potentially help them understand the concepts of the HSPT.

We'll find a private HSPT tutor in Roseville who is extremely flexible and can work with your schedule. Families are busier than ever today, and it's important to find somebody who will fit into your schedule by meeting with your child at a time of day that works best, and on either weekdays or weekends, again, according to your family's needs. Their tutor can also be flexible in where they meet in person, whether it's at a local library or in your own home, or any other location you and your child choose. It's even possible for your student to meet with their tutor face-to-face online, through our live learning platform.

The Varsity Tutors educational directors can identify a private HSPT tutor in Roseville who will address all of your HSPT concerns. The basic HSPT test is made up of five sections: language, math, quantitative skills, reading, and verbal skills. There are other sections that individual schools can choose to add. This makes for a wide variety of content, and it's more than likely that your student might excel in some of these subjects and need a little boost in others. Their HSPT tutor can work to find out where your student's strengths and weaknesses lie and will study with them accordingly. They won't waste time going over the things your child is already very comfortable in, and they will take as much time as necessary in the subjects where they need the most help.

An expert HSPT tutor in Roseville, CA, could help your student meet all of their studying goals. This could be refreshers on content, and it also includes test-taking skills. It's as important for your child to be familiar with the test format as it is for them to know the content, and their tutor can make sure there are no surprises for them on test day. HSPT Tutoring review by Cristina in Roseville, CA
The student took a practice test during our session and then we reviewed the concepts she is still having issues with. She tends to read the questions too fast, so she will take another practice test. I told her to read a little slower to see if she makes fewer mistakes in the test. Overall, she is doing very well on pacing and getting a good score.

First, we went over the student's test that he took for today. There was more on this test that he didn't know, so we went over these concepts in detail. The rest of the time was spent taking parts of an older test. We got through all but about 15 of these questions, and will save those for next time. I sent another test for next time and told him to take it in one sitting and time it, so we can make sure that timing isn't an issue.

Today we covered mitosis, meiosis, and the fundamentals of genetic inheritance. I assigned homework for the student to finish the sex-linked traits and pedigrees of the chapter so we can review it in our next session on Tuesday.

We finished going through the lessons on ambiguity, wordiness, redundancy, and combining sentences. After going through all of the chapter material and practices, we went through the practice test, which we started in April. It went pretty well, but we needed to work on ordering sentences. We did a couple exercises on just ordering sentences in a paragraph without context, and by the end he matched the answer key and it did improve when he did the last passage of the practice test.

HSPT Tutoring review by Kimberly in Roseville, CA
Yesterday we covered all reaction types, including acid-base reactions, redox reactions, and solubility. We also considered factors affecting acid/base strength, pH, and oxidation numbers. Next time we'll spend more time on redox reactions and balancing redox reactions, then move on to kinetics and a more in-depth review of equilibrium. I'll email the student instructions for reading, videos, and practice problems to complete soon.

HSPT Tutoring review by Phoebe in Roseville, CA
The student was in remedial math her entire educational time. She stated she was basically taught addition and subtraction but nothing more. During today's session, it was clear that she has solid addition and subtraction capabilities. I'm sending her some worksheets to assess how much math knowledge she does possess so we can maximize her tutoring time.
