GMAT Tutoring review by Elizabeth in Irvine, CA
We went over Biology lectures 2-3 and Physics lecture 2. We went through all of the in lecture questions she missed and went over some basic content review. We went through two paragraphs for verbal and wrote and discussed the purpose to help with mapping in the verbal section.

GMAT Tutoring review by Daniel in Irvine, CA
The student and I began by constructing a schedule for him for the next two weeks for content review. I emphasized the importance of really knowing the content before he can truly attack the MCAT questions with confidence, and using the techniques properly. We then continued with Bio review, including a passage on the cardiovascular system and a passage on the nervous system. We also reviewed the nervous system, including action potential and its various stages. I then helped the student through the passages, and guided him in how to approach the questions and how to reach the correct answers. We will be focusing on content retention. We then did a verbal passage together, which we went through paragraph-by-paragraph, making a map of main idea. We then answered the questions using this map, and I think he realized how helpful it can be in guiding you to the correct answer for many of the questions.

GMAT Tutoring review by Lee in Irvine, CA
This was our first meeting. We spent about 20 minutes talking about general strategy for the test, and I gave her a list of inexpensive resources that I found to be the best for each part of the MCAT. We then went through the entire General Chemistry chapter of rate laws, and the entire chapter on equilibrium. I find these chapters to be useful to both the Physical and Biological Sciences sections. We spent the last 15 minutes going over different units and constants she needs to know.

GMAT Tutoring review by Rachel in Irvine, CA
We went over the full-length test that she did this past weekend. It's clear that she's struggling with reading the passages/questions carefully. We did identify a few weak topics: Sound, Circuits, Biochemistry, Metabolism & Embryology that she's going to study in the next few days before our next session.

GMAT Tutoring review by Danny in Irvine, CA
Today the student and I met for the first time. We began by discussing past test history, problems that the student believes he has, as well as goals for the future. Following this, I had him go through a practice passage and afterward describe his methodology for approaching the passage. Although he has described himself as a slow reader, I believe he reads at a decent pace. It's generally good to spend about 8 minutes on a passage, with 4 minutes reading the passage and 4 minutes answering questions. He read at about my pace, but spent a much longer time answering questions. This will be the focus of our sessions: reading the passage better so that we can spend less time on questions. In order to do this, I asked the student to practice using a different type of technique where he summarizes each paragraph briefly in his head and places it into the context of the passage. He liked this method. We will work on answering questions better next time.

GMAT Tutoring review by Carl in Irvine, CA
Tonight, the student and I worked on Reading Comprehension, an area he's not worked much on (since we've been hitting LR and Logic Games so hard). We outlined the general constraints the test maker operates under and the general question types; then we proceeded to work through two passages together, with special attention to the way that answers can be confirmed. Before our next session, he's going to take a practice test (full length, under test like conditions).
