If you have been considering the use of St. Louis German tutoring for you or your student, contact the educational representatives at Varsity Tutors today to discuss your options and get more information about the benefits of personal instruction. A St. Louis German tutor can instruct students of all skills and ages. Whether your student has just started to explore German or you have been doing some studying on your own, a mentor can be a great asset when learning a new language.

How can a St. Louis German tutor near me help me develop my skills?

Learning to speak German can be rewarding and fun. Whether you have just decided to learn German because you want to learn more about its history and culture or you want to be able to converse fluently with new people as you travel abroad, an instructor can help you determine academic goals that are important to you and help you work toward accomplishing those goals.

St. Louis German tutors have the ability to personalize your student's lessons and focus on their achievements. For example, finding out what learning style your student prefers can help the instructor determine their instructional approach. If your student prefers to learn using visuals, the mentor can make and review flashcards to help them learn which articles go with specific nouns. The instructor can also pace their instruction of more complicated concepts within German such as conjugating verbs correctly and cover interesting aspects of the history and culture of German. From giving assessments to determine your readiness to move on to new topics to assigning work to help you practice speaking and reading the language, an instructor can focus solely on your academic needs, help you develop correct pronunciation, and make the process enjoyable for you or your student.

If your student needs more practice outside of their lessons, the instructor can recommend different activities for them to do. For example, the use of simulated immersion is one of language acquisition's best practices. This involves having the student listen to as much of the language as possible, and it can actually help students better understand elements like grammar and sentence structure within German.

How can I accommodate guidance from St. Louis German tutors into my calendar?

Another important aspect of online tutoring is its versatility. St. Louis German tutoring can occur either online or in person. The online choice uses our Live Learning Platform so that you can interact with the instructor live. One such interactive feature involves being able to review your previously recorded sessions so that you can review concepts and practice with them before your upcoming session. Video chat also enables you or your student and the instructor to see and hear one another in real time. These and other features offer a quality instructional experience when your student needs direction.

If online tutoring does not appeal to you or your student, you can opt to meet with a tutor face-to-face. We can put you in contact with a mentor who can meet wherever it is most convenient for you. Whether you want them to come to your home, meet at a local café, travel to Richmond Heights Memorial Library, or another public place in the area, we can find an instructor to match your needs.

Additionally, if personal online tutoring does not spark your interest, you can decide to enroll in an online course. With these courses using similar features to private instruction, your student can see and speak with the instructor and their peers with ease. Waiting to enroll in a course does not take long since new course sections open up frequently for your convenience. Simply choose the date and time that works best for your schedule, and you can begin participating in a collaborative educational experience.

We reviewed times of the day and then studied the days of the week. We also applied the relevant adverbs of time (vorgestern, gestern, heute, morgen, ¼bermorgen). We then played a memory game to review the vowels. Finally, we studied the letters of the German alphabet up to letter "t".

German Tutoring review by Michael in St. Louis, MO
He has a test coming up at the end of the week, so together we worked on reviewing some of the major grammar points that were covered the past few weeks. We worked on creating a study sheet with all of the possible tables for adjective endings. We also created some flashcards for adjective preposition combos and studied those. He seems to be really confident with the material.

German Tutoring review by Alice in St. Louis, MO
Today we worked on the activity book with the computer and then we did an activity involving sentences. I had brought different subject/verb/complement cards and I wanted the student to put them together to create different sentences. He understands the principle of sentences. I will bring the word cards next time and see what he can come up with in the beginning of the session. His accent is good and he likes the book we read at the end of each session.

German Tutoring review by Matthew in St. Louis, MO
The student and I reviewed a number of verbs - etre, faire, aller, and -er verbs - with an emphasis on etre in advance of a quiz that he has on Monday. He practiced conjugating these verbs with an emphasis placed on correct preposition use and on activity vocabulary. The student learns grammatical rules and vocabulary very rapidly.

German Tutoring review by Winta in St. Louis, MO
Began by reviewing homework, which both students did well. In today's lesson, they learned the singular forms of the present tense conjugation of "etre" (je/tu/il/elle). They also learned how to use those phrases with adjectives we've covered to describe themselves and others. We covered that il/elle can be used to describe "it", which both students seemed to understand. I have not yet taught the students the plural forms of the adjectives, so I would like to do so in the next lesson before teaching them the nous/vous/ils/elles forms of "etre".

Today I wanted to move on from our last session's work and begin to learn new vocabulary. We went over this again and next week I will be quizzing her on the previous material we have done.
