Session Summaries by German Tutors

German Tutoring review by Anna in Framingham, MA
Today we reviewed vocabulary and verbs. We did some verbal review and some visual reviews to review food words. We looked at a Spanish comic and reviewed house words through describing things that exist in a bedroom. I want the student to organize her verbs so that we can focus on them. She should also do some extra practice with vocabulary.

German Tutoring review by Austin in Framingham, MA
The student and I continued to review core learning concepts from his first two years of Spanish language instruction, with a primary focus on time and numbers. He has begun to show a mastery of time and has greatly improved his understanding of large-digit numbers. He and I also reviewed vocabulary from his food and clothing units, and revisited affirmative and negative tu commands, with a special emphasis on irregular forms.

German Tutoring review by María Paz in Framingham, MA
In this session we focused on writing full sentences. The theme was: "The objects in the bedroom". The student was able to make sentences with the objects of his bedroom and explain their use. For example: The bed is used for sleeping.; The alarm clock is used to wake me up.; etc. Later, I asked him questions regarding specific objects in his room and he was able to answer correctly in complete sentences. His main struggle is getting used to answering in full sentences. Same as in writing. Now, he is getting used to both writing correctly in Spanish, as well as speaking. He has homework. He has to rewrite the questions and answers we learned together in this session. In this way, I'm hoping he will practice his writing, as well as the structure of the Spanish language.

German Tutoring review by Stephanie in Framingham, MA
On our last session the student and I went over a worksheet that I provided her which consists of useful expressions in Spanish to use in the classroom or to communicate with her teachers. The phrases were: I understand (Yo entiendo), I do not understand (No entiendo) Can you repeat that please? ( Puedes repetir eso por favor) and many more. The student was able to read these phrases as I was explaining them to her. After that, we went over vocabulary related to clothes in Spanish. We went over each word and their pronunciation and I ask the student to describe in Spanish the color of each clothing item.

German Tutoring review by Laura in Framingham, MA
The focus of this session was conversation and technical vocabulary, as well as work-related vocabulary. Conversation was based on content from videos about the student's company and their products. Different German dialects were spoken in the videos. We focused on building vocabulary and accuracy in vocabulary choice, idiomatic speech, and some spoken German. The student's grammar is quite flawless most of the time. We agreed on basing the next session on some material prepared by the student beforehand to save some time during the session; the topic of the task is related to the his personal interest.
