How can German tutoring help you?

One of the oldest and richest cultural histories in our world today belongs to the Germans. As one of the leading European economies, they're also forging a path of relevance for themselves into the future, which should last for years to come. Given this prevalence, it makes sense why so many people are interested in studying the German language. However, the language may be challenging to learn and oftentimes features difficult pronunciations, which may throw off your studying progress. If you think you might need help, contact Varsity Tutors to get connected with German tutors in Cleveland, OH.

We may match you to an expert in the field of German who may be able to assist you with targeted lesson plans that may help you increase your German language skills. You'll also get the benefit of being able to ask your questions to someone who may answer them instantly, rather than having to wait for your German teacher to reach a good stopping point in his lesson. Also, according to the association for supervision and curriculum development, language learners who find themselves in a negative mental space have more trouble learning the language. That means that the more frustrated you get while trying to learn German, the harder it may unfortunately become. With a tutor, that may change. You'll get the targeted help you need to feel excited about learning a second language again, and that improved mentality may serve you well in your continued studies. In short, an expert German tutor in Cleveland, OH, may help you stay ahead of the curve in your class.

German Tutoring review by Marcel in Cleveland, OH
This class focused on the overall revision for his upcoming final exam. We did some of the grammar and exercises that we have done in the past. I believe that he still needs some revision for himself in order to be prepared for his exam.

German Tutoring review by Nicole in Cleveland, OH
The student and I reviewed for his final. We went through his old tests and then we went back through his study guide. He did well on most of the topics, but was struggling remembering the definition of a few of the verbs, which we'll have to work on.

German Tutoring review by Helene in Cleveland, OH
We talked some more about the sorts of things we can do on vacation and filled in a worksheet on the topic. Then the children glued some pictures of candy on the picture of a gingerbread house and wrote a little text about it underneath.

German Tutoring review by Charles in Cleveland, OH
The student had no looming test or quiz to specifically concentrate on, so instead we spent the first hour or so covering issues related to our previous pronunciation work, and how that related to earlier concepts like numbers, time, colors, and the conjugations of the verb "to be." We spent the remaining time going over what a word stem is, how words develop over time, and the basic theory behind linguistic morphology. With much discussion, we went over the basics of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, and how different languages have vastly different means of expressing certain thoughts.

German Tutoring review by Armin in Cleveland, OH
The student first had some questions on fraction operations, so I reviewed them with him. After a short review he was quickly able to successfully apply what he knew to different types of problems that required different operations of fractions. After a short break, we also went over some German, to help him prepare for the test he will have when he returns from his trip. He will be required to describe people using adjectives. In the end, we also worked on math some more.

German Tutoring review by Molly in Cleveland, OH
Today the student and I worked on German. She is starting to get into more advanced grammar involving the different cases, so we spent some time reviewing the comparable English grammar (differentiating among subject/direct object/indirect object), which she'll need to do to identify the correct case. We also reviewed some basic grammar rules involving proper sentence structure (which is quite different in German), and she worked on some sentence-writing exercises. One thing she found helpful was a word-for-word translation of the sentences, which reinforces the correct structure while reviewing vocabulary at the same time.
