French Tutoring review by Clare in Yonkers, NY
We focused on the "dis" spelling words today.  The student and I made up a game to accompany her spelling words.  She also spent a great deal of our session reading to me.  She is making progress with her phonemic awareness.  When words are broken into chunks she is able to sound them out with relative ease.

French Tutoring review by Linda in Yonkers, NY
The student and I spent our session reviewing sight words including: have, you, am, and, got, at, here, of. We used magnetic letters to rearrange the letters in the words to see if she could put them back in order. In the last part of our session, we practiced numerical recognition using flashcards. She knows most of her numbers from 1-20. In addition, I gave her a math problem to work on and I taught her the strategy of "counting on." For example, if you have 4+3, instead of counting back at 1, start at 4 and count on by holding up three fingers. (you know you already have 4, so then count 5,6, 7.)
