Introduced student to Spanish words she can use around the house. Reviewed numbers and colors with her. Made a notebook of the vocabulary covered. She was a very good listener and she seems to be a quick learner. She has a hard time with the pronunciation of the letter "r" but we will work on it as we continue to learn. I told her to practice the words we learned.

We began by going over the student's homework for the night. I had him make estimates for how long each assignment would take him. I also looked at the assignments with him, helping him with a Spanish assignment he didn't quite understand and looking over a science project he has due next week. We moved on to Spanish; I went over conjugations with him again (using regular -ar verbs), explaining to him how conjugation keeps the verb's stem and changes the ending. I used this to segue into explaining stem-changing verbs. Lastly, I had him list his homework in the order he intended to do it, and I told him to continue prioritizing his assignments and making time estimates every night.

Today we went over greetings and basic vocabulary for introductions. Then we went over the differences between ser and estar and used the conjugations to build sentences. So far, we have been going over grammar and parts of speech, but next week we are going to start using a few books and learning materials.

Topics covered include: the alphabet, asking and responding to persons name, greetings, feelings, origin, farewell, and days of the week. Progress was measured as father and son showed improvement asking and responding without using their notes as the session progressed. Pronunciation will be the area of improvement at this point. The days of the week is to be used to reinforce the alphabet. An internet site was recommended as reinforcement to practice pronunciation, and an email with a list of what was covered today will be emailed to the client to be used for practice.

We went over what the student's class worked on and the film they watched. We also continued with question words and how to ask questions and respond to them. We then talked about traveling by train and transportation. Lastly, they practiced more vocabulary.
