Finance Tutoring review by Michelle in Brookline, MA
The student continues to do well in mathematics. He took a full-length practice test and got almost all the problems correct in the math section. He definitely needs to start working on vocabulary-- it affects all components of his verbal sections except for the reading comprehension. He does well on the analogies, except when words are involved that he doesn't know. He needs to be committed to studying vocabulary if he wants to do well in all sections. Furthermore, we need to work on his essay skills, and ability to answer a question concisely and with organization and flow of ideas.

To begin our sessions, we all talked about the structure of the test. Then, we took a look at some typical sentence completion questions, including those that have multiple blanks and the sentence equivalence questions. They are already gaining confidence with using process of elimination and looking for root words. Each of them made a list of new vocab words they had learned and some root words they could use in the future. I left the girls with some practice sentence completion questions, and encouraged them to do some additional ones from their test prep books.

Finance Tutoring review by Kandice in Brookline, MA
In today's session we reviewed another Chapter of Lord of the Flies. Prior to reading the chapter, we watched a video summary of Chapter 4 before the student began reading. This helped him to have an idea of what was going on especially when the vocabulary can be difficult. We also talked about getting ready for his final exams, particularly around confidence. He has to believe that he can pass his exams first in addition to going to extra tutorial sessions and spending more time studying, but test confidence is a largely important study skill, too.
