This was our first session today. We met at the public library. We covered chapter 3 of his Online Textbook of Bacteriology which was a more in-depth discussion of bacterial cell structure and function. This should be the last week working from that material. His class at the University begins this week and he will be sending me the syllabus and information from the actual course.

Chemistry Tutoring review by Marian in San Bernardino, CA
This student is a very bright and motivated student! We talked about some general strategies for success in chemistry which include doing lots of practice problems and staying on top of memorization. We discussed some introductory concepts related to atoms, ions, and the periodic table. She had good questions and many of them touched on important, advanced topics. For next time, it's important to make sure she's getting enough sleep, making flashcards to learn the common elements and their symbols, and learning more about the groupings on the periodic table. I'm looking forward to working with her on practice and homework problems next session!
