Minecraft Coding Camp
Put their hard hat on: we’re building worlds. Your camper will make friends, gain fundamental coding skills, and play Minecraft all while expanding their creativity and ingenuity. Requires a PC with Windows OS.
Week-long camps (M-F) meet 2 hours/day
$300 • Ages 7 to 13 • 6-9 campers

Daily Builds
Each camp day an expert instructor will help build their programming prowess with JavaScript as they play Minecraft with new friends. Requires a PC with Windows OS.
Day One: Orientation & Events
On Monday, campers will get acquainted with Microsoft MakeCode and learn the fundamentals of block programming, then learn to program events within the world of Minecraft.
Day Two: Coordinates & Variables
On Tuesday, campers will explore the concept of in-game movement, use coordinates to represent player and object position, and learn to code using variables.
Day Three: Conditionals & Functions
On Wednesday, campers will learn to code interactivity by setting If-Then conditions to create events and outcomes.
Day Four: Iteration & Arrays
On Thursday, campers will program repeating elements and advanced data storage to allow for advanced ongoing gameplay.
Day Five: AI & Great Journey Challenge
On Friday, campers will explore the concept of Artificial Intelligence, then put their coding skills to work as they undertake a Minecraft Great Journey Challenge and compare their worlds and characters with new friends.
Small Groups, Expert Instructors
Camp sessions feature small groups of 6-9 campers led by an expert instructor, ensuring maximum participation, guidance, and collaboration. Instructors are chosen after an extensive vetting process that includes teaching demonstrations, background checks, and interviews to ensure both subject mastery and teaching ability.
Coding StarCourses
What better way to learn about the power of coding than from tech entrepreneurs and game designers? Your cosmic camper will gain exclusive access to computer science StarCourses and meet-and-greets, where they’ll see computer science through the eyes of visionaries.
