2024 GMAT Changes: What You Need To Know
What Is Changing?
Beginning in 2024, all GMAT administrations now use the GMAT Focus format, and students should focus on strategies, resources, and content coverage that will be directly geared toward success on that new test.
- The updated test has an updated format, with shorter sections.
- The new Data Insights section combines the Data Sufficiency question format with the old Integrated Reasoning question formats: Graphics Interpretation, Table Analysis, Multi-Source Reasoning, and Two-Part Analysis.
- The Verbal Reasoning section no longer includes Sentence Correction questions, which have been dropped from the exam entirely. Only Critical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension questions remain.
- The Quantitative Reasoning section no longer covers Data Sufficiency (which has moved to Data Insights) or Geometry (no longer tested).
- The scoring scale has changed: the exam is now scored on a scale of 205 to 805, with each section scored on a scale of 60-90.
- The test remains computer-adaptive at the question level, but students can now return to previous questions and change up to 3 answers per section.
