How can Biology tutoring help you succeed?

Biology is a foundational course in science. In order to progress onto more complex science courses, you need to have a strong foundation in biology. As biology is the study of life, it covers a great deal of information. It covers topics such as genetics, zoology, botany, and cell biology. Cell biology is one of the most difficult subject to fully understand, because it seems less relatable than other subjects. With subjects such as zoology and botany, you can easily see animals and plants. You are also likely to have at least some background in these subjects before you ever learn about them. While genetics may be more difficult to notice, you can see how genetics play a role in appearance and behavior. But cells are microscopic, making them more difficult to relate to. It can be difficult to distinguish between aspects such as ribosomes, eukaryotes, and prokaryotes. If you are having trouble with your biology course, it may be a good idea to connect with a private tutor. Biology Tutoring review by Vinita in St. Charles, MO
The student had some homework problems we worked on today, mostly velocity, speed, acceleration problems. We went over some worksheet problems as well. The student seems to have a solid understanding of physics and the formulas as well as the concepts that were needed to understand and work on the problems

We worked on the student's review problems for her test on Friday. We looked at how to incorporate our understanding of static and kinetic friction into our force diagrams and what it means when you use force of friction in an equation. She is still struggling a bit setting up free body diagrams on the more difficult problems. Once we do a bit more practice she should be in a very solid place to succeed. I will be giving her an extra advanced force problem to practice before the test.

We went over homework questions in preparation for a test on 09-29. We did problems that include Newton's third law, motion equations, and inclined plane problems. I also helped her go over the formula sheet that she got from her professor. After the session, she emailed a problem and I responded to that problem via email. She needs less and less guidance from me. No concerns from the session.

Biology Tutoring review by Mark in St. Charles, MO
The student began today's session by working on an article summary assignment for his biology 41 class. Using the required criteria as a guide, he typed out a bulleted outline on his laptop. After he typed out his outline for his article summary assignment, we moved on to review key terms (in bold) in chapter 9 of his biology textbook. After he and I reviewed the major terms in chapter 9, we concluded today's tutoring session by reviewing the requirements for his final assignment in his introduction. The final assignment for this class is a PowerPoint teaching and professional goals portfolio (4 minutes long, 15 slides). Like the biology article summary assignment, he typed a bulleted outline on his laptop. We focused on the specific requirements of the assignment that are listed in the class syllabus. As he has his second biology exam coming up, I left him with study sheets of the major terms in his biology textbook, from chapters 5 through 9. He is a bright student. He was on task during the entire lesson. Thus the session was very productive.
