How can a tutor assist you in conquering Anatomy?

Without a doubt, the study of humans is filled with complications and unanswered questions, especially in terms of our bodies. Despite discovering a wealth of information for many centuries, plenty of mysteries and enigmas still remain in this world. For students in the fields of medicine, biology, and sciences, the study of our bodies, or anatomy, can be an incredibly rewarding and difficult subject to tackle. Along with learning new vocabulary, understanding the purposes of our organs, tissue, and bones, can give anyone information overload. As science and technology changes the way humanity views its health, it is not uncommon to find students stressed out and lost to comprehending this growing study. Varsity Tutors can find you an anatomy tutor in San Jose who could break down the basic concepts of anatomy to try to make sure you understand the big picture!

Consider the complexity of the anatomical planes for a moment. Could you determine which side of the human side is the 'dorsal?' Are you aware where you should be looking when a condition is located at the 'inferior' or 'superior' part of the body? The human body, with all of its complexities, is a lifelong study that needs constant review and research. Still, no one has to go in alone, as help can be easy to find! No matter what topics you need to study, our educational directors can help you find a skilled, independent tutor near San Jose, CA, who can guide you on the path toward anatomy understanding!

I started prepping her with her final exam study guide. I marked sections that I thought she could handle on her own (vocabulary, listing infectious bacteria). I helped her review concepts in adaptive immunity and a few that needed clarification. We covered concepts of humoral and cellular immunity, antibodies, antigens, and passive vs. actively acquired immunity.

We covered the antibiotic chemotherapy lecture. We also worked on the designer antibiotic assignment with an emphasis on how to bring his choices through a drug discovery process. Finally, I gave him advice on how to prepare for our next session with regard to his next journal club discussion. I also presented him with study questions on the "Bacteria Growth and Nutrition" and "Control" lecture topics.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Rikke in San Jose, CA
As her final exam is this week, this was my last scheduled session with the student, and we spent the majority of the time reviewing material from the beginning of the semester. We briefly covered virology (virus structure, genomes, proteins, different modes of infection; bacteriophages, comparison/contrast to animal and plant viruses), the fundamentals of cell biology, and then went on to spend the rest of the time going over genetics and molecular biology (pro- vs. eukaryotic genomes, DNA structure/chemistry, replication, transcription, translation, mutation, genetic code, gene regulation, lac operon). We rounded off by also talking a little bit about test taking strategies, likely exam scenarios, and the importance of rest and nutrition for optimal intellectual performance. I wish her the very best of luck on her final exams and in her future pursuits!

Anatomy Tutoring review by Yemi in San Jose, CA
We covered amino acids, peptides, secondary, tertiary and quaternary structures. We looked at how you would draw the amino acid and peptides based on the pH of the solution. Then we went over how to write out peptide sequences. And then what interactions stabilize tertiary and quaternary structures. Since he has an Organic Chemistry background, it will help him in his class.
