Anatomy Tutoring review by Brian in Lynn, MA
Tonight we discussed Mendelian and molecular genetics. He picked it up pretty quickly. We moved onto another practice test at his request and he did pretty well in that aspect to. Then we talked about the anatomy and physiology of the heart. He is a good student. He asked to do different things than what we were doing and I obliged as he knows better than I do what he doesn't understand. Next time we will continue to review for the SAT II.

During our session we covered the digestive system, including the necessary anatomy physiology, and nutrition. Concept checks were carried out after each section. No grades or progress reports were accessible for assessment. I did not leave any extra practice as the topic was going to be covered during the school-week. In next session will evaluate the potential need for extra practice.

Today, the student needed help with an ecology lab in preparation for his AP Bio exam. After that, we covered broad subjects using a study guide presented to him by his teacher, from molecular biology, organelles and functions, ecology, animal behavior, mimicry, population ecology, and population behavior. The student has improved dramatically, with quizzes now >90%. No concerns.

We started his general review of everything for the exam on Monday. We went through the class textbook as well as a prep book going chapter by chapter through reviewing high yield information. He seems to know the material well and it looks like we are just fine tuning things. I advised him to start practicing with questions so we can start to identify anything that needs more explanation.

The student got an A on his last test again. Both he and his family are very excited. His new chapter is covering the nervous and endocrine system. In this session, we spent our time covering the basics of the nervous system. We started by going over the central and peripheral nervous system. He did a pretty good job understanding this concept. After, we covered the different types of neurons, both structurally and functionally. We finished by talking about action potentials, neurotransmitters, and the difference between myelinated and unmyelinated axons.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Abir in Lynn, MA
The student wanted to schedule an extra session this week and possibly moving forward in preparation for his final exams the first week of June. We covered important topics in Meiosis and chromosomal abnormalities. Meiosis is arguably one of the biggest topics in biology and I believe reviewing it was a great idea. He remembered the general gist of the topics even!
