Session Summaries by Anatomy Tutors

Anatomy Tutoring review by Anton in Kirkland, WA
The student and I completed the final problems from her test review packet and she now has a clear process for solving the problems that she will encounter on her final exam. She scored a 94 on the thermochemistry test that was taken the day after our first session. I believe that with the addition review before her exam, she will score well on her final exam.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Samantha in Kirkland, WA
The student and I worked on her homework on redox reactions and continued to work on review for the exam, finishing up periodic trends and starting the "math of chemistry," including calculating molar mass, percent by weight, mole fractions, and product to reactant ratios. She was challenged a bit more with this math section than with the periodic trend section, so I would like to do some extra review of those topics before the exam.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Thomas in Kirkland, WA
Today the student reviewed problems for an upcoming test on molarity conversions: grams to moles, moles to grams, molecules to moles, etc., using Avogadro's number. In addition, we brainstormed ideas for her final project, a "chemistry survival kit." Her most recent test score improved more than 30 points after a review last week.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Sundeep in Kirkland, WA
The student and I went over her worksheet to review for her final exam. She was working through it easily and had few questions. I think she has improved greatly since the beginning of the year when I started working with her, and she should get an "A" in chemistry. She is going to continue working on the packet until I see her again Thursday to go over it one last time.

Today we continued practicing for the student's tests. He solved some problems on his own but needed help with others. He will need to review some chapters and do more practice problems.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Bob in Kirkland, WA
The student and I reviewed her homework, textbook and worksheets. We discussed, in detail, the scientific method. She was unsure about the difference between independent and dependent variables. We also had lots of practice writing hypotheses as well as well-written conclusions. After mastering each part of the scientific method, we reviewed her homework to identify areas to study for a future exam.
