Anatomy Tutoring review by Brittany in Dayton, OH
We did a rapid fire test review for his test on Friday. The student was pretty much able to tell me 100% of his testable material from memory. He reasoned through the problems very well. I have no doubt he will do very well on Friday.

Today the student and I continued to review his A&P material. I answered a couple of questions about the respiratory system and then we continued to review the renal system. We will continue our review on Tuesday, the day before his exam.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Beth in Dayton, OH
We discussed PV curves, under normal and pathological conditions, in detail. The student understands these very well; there were a few that we needed to go over piece by piece to clarify. We also discussed cardiorespiratory changes during exercise and at altitude. He also asked to review the pathways of gas exchange between blood and tissues/alveolar. He drew the diagrams for each situation; a few corrections were needed, and we talked about the factors influencing CO2 transport besides a partial pressure gradient. The exam is tomorrow. He feels good about it. I think he will do very well. He is diligent and focused, and has put in a lot of time studying for this exam.

The student is starting his reproductive system chapter of his class, so today, we did an overview of the male and female anatomy and physiology as it relates to reproduction. We went through part of his take-home packet and discussed the concepts of development of a gamete and how it traverses the male and female reproductive tracts. Next time, we will continue work on this chapter and prepare him for his test.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Tommy in Dayton, OH
The student got a 98% on her last test! This is easily the proudest I have been of her since we have worked together. She is up to an 87 in the class, and we are definitely shooting for an A. Her last exam is a non-cumulative midterm covering the reproductive and respiratory systems. She is already solid on the respiratory system since it is an extension of the cardiovascular system (which she nailed on her last test!). I gave her a printout of the human pleural cavity so she can practice drawing contractions of the diaphragm to get a better sense of negative pressure breathing and put all of the pieces of the respiratory system together. She should be able to breeze through the last section, which will serve her well in studying for other finals.
