How can Anatomy tutoring help you?

Anatomy is an awesome subject. It's also one where you will encounter possible foreign terms such as transverse, midsagittal, distal, and ventral. There's lots of vocabulary to obtain when studying anatomy; that is certainly an aspect of learning about the human body, whether you're learning about microscopic anatomy or the muscular system and other major systems. At times, it may seem that the word associations can get in the way. Although it may be hard to learn everything on your own, there is help in the form of tutoring, which offers the advantages of one-on-one instruction to highlight your learning needs. If you're in search of anatomy tutoring in Arlington, VA, Varsity Tutors would like to try to help you find a tutor who could make suggestions along the way to academic success.

Session Summaries by Anatomy Tutors

Anatomy Tutoring review by Kelley in Arlington, TX
We covered each topic on her unit list for the upcoming test. We talked through each point and made some study sheets. I helped her synthesize the information she was given in her notes and in class handouts. She is going to review the material we covered and some practice problems before our next session.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Clinton in Arlington, TX
At today's session, the student told me that she has a test coming up this Thursday, on Chapter 1 of her book. So we spent time covering material from that chapter. It included topics like Biodiversity, Adaptation, Natural Selection, Development, Ecosystems, Classification (Taxonomy, Systematics), the Scientific Method, independent and dependent variables. The student had a very strong grasp on all of these topics, and did not appear to struggle with anything. We went over the entire Chapter 1, went over a worksheet of review questions that her teacher provided, and worked through several practice questions.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Mike in Arlington, TX
In preparation for the upcoming exam, we decided to focus our energy on several of the practice problems from the online resources. We discussed numerous key terms, including definitions related to meiosis and mitosis, concepts of linkage disequilibrium, gene interactions and epistasis, analyses of tetrads, and the different types of crossing over that occur during homologous recombination. The student had a good grasp of these materials as demonstrated by his broad explanations of the concepts upon questioning. We finished by discussing a study strategy for the subsequent two days.

The student and I went over algebra and biology. In biology we went over the different types of organic compounds: carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and nucleic acids. In algebra, we went over homework that the student had due the next day.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Murat in Arlington, TX
Half of the session was focused on Biology and half on Spanish. For the Biology section, we reviewed the cell and its organelles, and covered the differences between prokaryotic cells and eukaryotic cells. For Spanish, we covered accent rules. Because this was our first session, I didn't see any scores to note progress. The student did pretty well and seemed to get a grasp of the material quickly. She struggled with taking organized notes, which is something that I'll work with her on in future sessions. While no extra practice was assigned from my part, the student had to complete homework assignments related to the things we covered during the session.
