Algebra Tutoring review by Anne in Cranston, RI
The student and I reviewed an algebra workbook that her mom provided. We focused on percentages and did practice problems. She stated she felt more comfortable with them by the end of the session.

Algebra Tutoring review by Brian in Cranston, RI
Worked on solving proportion problems. Taught the student to find common denominators in order to check for proportion. The student is doing better with solving equations but still has a tendency to want to solve entire problems in his head. Advised him to use this solution as a 'gut check' on final answers and then work through the steps of solving equations. The student is doing better formulating equations out of situations (word problems).

Algebra Tutoring review by Benjamin in Cranston, RI
The student is currently covering systems of equations in his algebra class. We worked on setting up a system of equations (two variables and two equations). He had a study guide and homework that he set up equations for. After that, I found some worksheets that we used for more practice. He has a good grasp on how to set the equations up. Next week we will work on how to solve them.

Algebra Tutoring review by Matthew in Cranston, RI
We reviewed linear equations and system of equations. Specifically, we discussed slope-intercept form and standard form, and how to solve systems of equations by graphing, substitution, and using the addition/subtraction rule. After this review, we went over material on transformations and reflections. Student needed a review because he forgot some of the concepts from last semester. He also needed more explanation on the most recent material. After our tutoring session, he said that he felt much more comfortable with the material and felt more confident.

Algebra Tutoring review by Ishita in Cranston, RI
Today the student and I worked on chemistry and algebra. In algebra she is working on factoring and doing pretty well with it - just a couple of mistakes here and there. I was mostly letting her work, and catching a couple of arithmetic errors here and there. We also went over things for chemistry - she has a test coming up over alkanes and functional groups. This is still pretty hard for her and she'll need to practice more.
